Wonderfully Early Primitive Pin Cushion on Stand - Possibly Shaker
Pin Cushion appears to be stuffed with horse hair. The original red fabric has been covered over by a piece of HEAVY denim or canvas fabric which has also worn through.
The stuffing which I think is horse hair is showing through both layers of fabric.
Pin Cushion sits atop a treen sewing stand which appears to be turned on a lathe.
There is one small nick on the second tier of the wooden stand.
Bottom has three little button feet.
Stands 7 inches high.
Base diameter is 3 3/4 inches.
Love the worn quality.
Someone really got good use out of this one.
