Wonderful 19th C Distaff with Raw Flax.....
The distaff measures 22 1/2" in length.
Longest prong appears to have a small amount of chip carving on it, others are plain.
These were used to hold flax while spinning.
Large bunch of raw flax.....
There is an age crack in the base branch which I have shown in photos. Still quite stable
