Wonderful 19th C Cloth Rag Doll with Brown Dress.....
Sweet and Wonderful....
19th C Cloth Rag Doll in an early brown cotton dress.....
Measuring 19 1/2 inches in height...
She has quirky little shaped feet sticking out of the ends of homespun stockings....
Her hands were sewn into fingers but doesn't look like they were ever stuffed.... Just flat hands at the ends of her arms....
She is wearing white pantaloons edged with a little lace trim..
Her face shows very faint traces of having pencil drawn features, at least an eye and a nose....
Long ago worn off..
Her head is slightly misshapen which is adorable...
She is stuffed with rags or early cotton batting and is firm stuffed...
Her dress has a ruffle around the neck and gathers around the wrists...
Dress is early but may not be original
It is rust, dark brown and tan stripes. In good condition with no holes or tears but has some fading...
Doll has some reinforcements around her neck which were done long, long ago.. You can see this in photos..
This is a wonderful early doll in good condition...
